Wyverstone – Feast of St George

On 22nd April The Friends of St Georges, together with a great band of helpers, put together a lunchtime feast at Wyverstone Village Hall.

StGeorge4

Over 60 people enjoyed a 3 course lunch (as well as a game of George and the Dragon!) – all followed by some lively entertainment by ‘The Kettle Girls’.

The finale was for table winners to have a go at ‘Slaying the Dragon’ – it was a close contest, and the winnings were shared very equitably!

The day was a great success, and over £1,000 was raised to help with the running and maintenance of St Georges.  A big ‘Thank You’ to everyone who made the day run smoothly, and all who came along to support it.

Would you Adam & Eve it?

Harvest Festival – Wyverstone

A wonderful day at the Benefice Harvest service in Wyverstone; followed by lunch to raise funds for the delightful St George’s Church.

Following the lunch, our task was to create a piece of artwork following in the paths of great illustrated manuscripts (how cultural is that!).

After lunch, each of six tables created their illustrated manuscripts, based on a letter(S) for a village; with a small prize for the one voted best by everyone present.

Amazing creative work in around an hour; and fabulous fun.

Well done to this years winner – Bacton.
