The Chapel, which is small and unique, was a private Chapel of the Tyrrell Family. It was built between 1474 and 1490 with the tower being added later. It is a stunning example with many special features and these can be seen following the links below.
We have services on the first Sunday of the month, in the afternoon, following the Book of Common Prayer.
A Coffee Morning, Mini Fete and Carols by Candlelight are highlights of the year.
You will always receive a warm welcome at any of our services or events or just come and look round. The Church is always open during daylight hours.
Gipping Chapel Roof Repair
The roof repairs to the North side of Gipping Chapel were completed in August. We feel very fortunate to have been awarded a grant of approximately £40,000 from the Listed Places of Worship which enabled us to address the major deterioration from weather and age on this roof. This work would not have been possible without the grant from their Roof Repair Fund. We can now be confident that the roof will be watertight and continue to protect the Chapel for future generations to enjoy. The committee would like to thank everyone who has contributed towards this work and supported us at our fundraising events.
Come and enjoy this timeless atmosphere.
