Draft Book of Services

Draft Services Book

We are in the process of producing a new book of regular services used in our churches.  Having worked on the content for some time, we now have a version that is thought to have the right content for us.

The book has been designed with considerable emphasis on ease of use, placing the All-Age service at the beginning.  Each Eucharistic Prayer fits on a two-page spread, avoiding the need for page turns.

Two newer Eucharistic Prayers, for use with All-Age services, have also been incorporated, to provide a richer diversity in the liturgy.  Where alternative texts are used (such as for the Lord’s Prayer) these have been placed side-by-side.

A copy of the printed draft will be circulated to each PCC for comments / observations; it is important that each church is aware of the content before we print the final ones.  The file is large, and may take a while to be downloaded to your machine.

The intention is that each church will have 100 copies of the new service book – sufficient for any service where all our churches join together in fellowship  on a 3rd Sunday of a month.

What can you do to help?

If you spot any mistakes, or would like to comment on something, please one of the parish churchwardens know – they will coordinate a response for each parish in the benefice.
